Quick Update: working on the issue No.2 of the magazine, life, new favorite coffee shop and more

hello my friends i am back today after a couple of weeks and because i have an important thing to tell you: THE ISSUE No. 2 OF THE MAGAZINE WILL BE OUT SOON!! I have been working on the second issue of the magazine for about a month now. I never thought I would be doing a second issue actually but I just love the process of creating the magazine (even if it is soooooo long and sometimes really annoying), it just feels so good to create something about subjects that you are passionate about and then being able to share it. I finally found a name for the magazine, it is now the LATE NIGHT DIGEST, i am quite proud of the name actually. This issue is to me better than the first one, the designs are prettier, the interviews more complete and there are a lot of new (very cool) stuffs. I really can’t wait for you to read it and here your opinion about it. tumblr_n9i46bFNRJ1qgdc0oo1_500 Lately my life is getting more and more messy and i am so over it at times (i am struggling very hard to be honest) but it’s okay, things gets better. tumblr_noyx0tFCS71rj35g3o1_1280 A friend of mine took me to a café called the AntiCafé in Paris and I just love this place, the concept an all. Basically it is a café where you pay for the time you stay in (it is 5€ the hour, 10€ the two hours and then it changes a little bit but you get the idea) and during this time you have a free access to a (good) wifi connexion, unlimited drinks and food (provided by the café) and the place itself is just so pretty and comfortable like everything is perfect for staying focused when you work i love it. Since it is close to my highschool i planned to go there after my classes to work and calm down. Okay my friends thank you for reading what I had to say and I’ll see you (very) soon with a new magazine issue ehe. THE END. Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Get To Know: Nuria Ma

Hi – I am back with another interview today! I did the previous one with a youtuber I really appreciate, Youjin and gave you a little sneak peak of the interview with Nuria Ma! Nuria is a 16 years old girl living in Spain (she was actually born in Spain, then moved to China when she was 5 and then moved back to Spain 3 years later). I am really in love with her content, she posts lifestyle, beauty and fashion related videos with a very cool and polished aesthetic. It makes me think of the Youtuber ‘Kinda Cool’, they both have this cool and soft vibe (and they are both so pretty). Anyways, I am beyond happy to introduce you to Nuria Ma!

Julie (me)- You own a youtube channel, what prompted you to start it, and when?
N- It was the summer to 6th grade when I discovered the beauty community on YouTube. I spent all of my summer watching videos and then one day, I took my iPod and started filming a night routine. I did in fact upload that, and I remember clearly that it got 14 views. I didn’t upload more after that, however I spent all my free time in my bedroom filming. So when I got a brand new laptop for my 13th birthday ( I think, it might have been my 12th birthday), I created the channel that I have today.
J- How would you describe your videos?
N- They are a mix of my life, what I like and a creative outlet, for example my vlogs documents my life (not all of it obviously) and my travels. My makeup tutorials represents the makeup looks I like and my fashion videos allows me to express myself in clothes. If that makes any sense lol

J- I love your style, what are your favorite brands currently?

N- My favourites are & other stories, COS and Topshop.
I do also enjoy some other high street fashion brands, however I cannot afford them so they are just inspiration to me.

J- What is your go to outfit?

N- For the fall time is always turtleneck, jeans, black booties and a leather jacket.
nuria automne 2
J- What kind of videos do you prefer filming?
N- I love filming sit down talking videos, I find myself the happiest when I do. However, I prefer fashion videos such as Lookbook but they are a pain in the a** to film.
J- Who are your favorite youtubers/bloggers?

J- Who/What inspires you?

N- All the beautiful ladies mentioned above. I find motivation and inspiration when I see their hard work which makes me want to make something better.

J- What do you love the most about China? What do you have in China you don’t have in Spain?

N- I love how easy China is!! The food delivery, online purchases that arrives the next day without you having to pick it up if you are not home. And also, the people. For some reason, I find myself connecting to Chinese people better.

nuria china

J- What does a productive weekend look like for you?

N- Waking up before 9am and starting the day with a sweaty workout, shower and then film a video, have it edited the same day and lastly, spending all Sunday with homework.

J- What are your passions?

N- Fashion and shopping hehe

J- What are your goals in life?

N- Move to NYC and start my own fashion brand. Also to meet someone who can make me happy 🙂

J- Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

N- Probably graduated from college and working my butt off to sustain myself.

J- How would you describe your aesthetic?

N- Chic, calm and simple

J- Are you confident in yourself? (if yes) What would you say to people who aren’t?

N- I am definitely not. However, I would tell those who aren’t either that if we learnt to love ourselves, our lives would be so much easier.

J- What is your current playlist?

N- I have one on spotify! I also love listening to coffee table jazz.

J- What is your favorite food?

N- Chinese food, Korean food and Japanese food (except of curry)

J- What are your skincare/beauty essentials?

N- A very gentle cleanser, hydrating toner and moisturiser.

J- And finally, is there anything you feel proud of?

N- My channel, never thought I would get to where I am now, and I am proud that I didn’t quit half way through because that is what I tend to do.

Thank you so much to Nuria for answering to my questions, I am so happy to get to work with such an inspiration for me! I hope you enjoyed this interview and let me know if you want more content about this beauty! Don’t forget to check her youtube channel and her instagram (and her weibo as well!).

Get To Know: Youjin유진

Hi – I am in the best mood today because first of all, I am back on the blog and secondly, I had the chance to interview two of my favorite youtubers, Youjin유진 and Nuria Ma, I truly can’t believe it, I am just so happy to share with you their interviews!! So today I am introducing you to Youjin (유진), a 17 year old Korean American living in the United States. She defines herself as ‘a typical high school student’ but she makes youtube videos and that’s why she is today featured on the blog!

I’m definitely an introvert but I do love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy meeting new people but I prefer being in my room watching youtube and netflix a little bit more haha.

Her videos are fashion, food, beauty and lifestyle related and I just love how she does everything with calm and softness. If I have to use one word to describe her channel it’s definitly ‘SOFT’. It is just so nice to sit at your desk and watch her videos. So keep reading if you want to know more about Youjin!

Julie (me!!)- Can you describe your youtube channel?

Youjin- At first, I wanted to make beauty and fashion related videos because those were all the rage back then on Youtube. I wanted to become a « beauty guru. » Unfortunately, I easily lost interest while creating beauty content because I realized that they’re not what I’m the best at. Now, I mostly make casual vlogs with beauty/fashion videos once in awhile! In the future, I want to create more fashion contents and of course, create more professional, polished vlogs.

J- What prompted you to start your channel? And when?

Y- I’ve been obsessed with Youtube the moment I discovered it in 2012 as a 5th grader in elementary school. I loved that you could literally put up whatever you wanted and that you could communicate with so many people around the world! After watching Youtube for years, I made my first channel in 2014 but didn’t officially start until beginning of 2018!

J- What/Who inspires you the most (it can be anything, from music, to art, person, photography…)

Y- I never really had a role model in my life but recently, I found a group of people that really inspire and motivate me: BTS. I know that BTS blowing up all over the world with crazy fangirls but I look up to them as role models than as a « Kpop Idol. » It’s so crazy to think about how 7 passionate people with same goals came together to push themselves above and beyond their original goals and limits. Their achievements always inspire me to use my passion to push myself and others to become THE best version of myself.

J- What are your passions in life (you are a dancer, is there anything else you love?)

Y- Yes, I am a dancer but to be honest I wouldn’t say that dance is my passion.

I’m passionate about creating.

I’m passionate about creating something that is entertaining and expressive. And dance is just one of the things that fits under that passion. My main passions right now are videography and maybe fashion because I love expressing myself through what I wear!

J- What is it like to be korean and to live in america? Do you miss Korea?

Y- I don’t think there’s anything special as a Korean living in America. I spent most of my life in America so America feels more like home to me than Korea but I do miss Korea!

J- What do you love the most about korea? What is the best thing in Korea you don’t have in the US?

Y- I love Korea’s well developed public transportation system. I love how easy it is to travel all around Korea just by taking trains, subways, or trains. I also love how Korea is small, which makes it easier to visit different towns, cities in a short period of time because it is so hard to travel in the U.S.
J- What is your current playlist?
Y- In My Feelings by Drake, Paris in the Rain & I Like Me Better by Lauv, Bbibbi by IU, Star by Vinxen! ❤

J- How do you feel about having almost 165K followers on youtube and seeing the number growing each day? Do you interact a lot with them? What is the best part about having a community like this?

Y- It’s honestly so surreal. I’m so so thankful for every one of them. I wish I could interact with them more but I’m trying to interact with them more through youtube and instagram lives! The best part of having a community like this is that I’m always surrounded by love and support and that I’m able to use that towards making better content!

J- Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Y- I’d be 27 years old in 10 years…I hope I’m still on my Youtube grind lolol. And hopefully, I’d be settled down in a city that I love with people understand and support me no matter what!

J- What are your goals for the upcoming year?

Y- I want to take Youtube more seriously and post high quality videos consistently!

J- What are you currently studying? And where do you want to work in the future?

Y- I’m taking typical high school classes: AP Chemistry, AP calculus, US History, etc. I want to work as a freelancer/ Youtuber. I also want to own a clothing brand/business one day!

J- Who are your favorite youtubers?

Y- I love Emma Chamberlain, Hannah Meloche, Ellie Thumann, Kinda Cool, OnDo, Jenn Im, Yoo’s Beauty, Allegra Shaw, and Tatiana Ringsby!

J- Where do you dream to travel to?

Y- I’d lovee to visit Italy, Spain, Iceland, and LA and New York!

J- Do you have any project for your channel?

Y- I have more fashion contents planned for the month of November. And I plan to put up weekly vlogs in December! I’m so so excited :))

J- And finally, your go-to beauty/skincare product?

Y- I LOVE Neutrogena’s hydroboost moisturizer and Mac lipstick in Chili. I honestly cannot live without them!

And that’s all for today’s interview, I hope you learned more about Youjin and if you haven’t seen her videos yet, check it out! 감사합니다 요진 for answering to my questions, I hope your youtube audience will grow and I truly can’t wait for your new videos to come out!

Get To Know: Piper Badaracco

안녕 – If there is a category I cherish on this blog it’s definitly the one dedicated to my Interviews, I love to be in touch with such amazing women and to share a bit of their world here on The Golden Crush with you. During summer I had all the time I needed to work on my projects and to do some interviews and plan some posts that will give some life to the blog throughout the year! Anyways, I’m back today with a special interview because I did it with a model (first time on the blog, yeeeaah!!).

Piper Badaracco (@pip.pip) is a 18 years old model with a irresistible baby doll face, born and raised in Oregon (state in the North-West, USA). She did some major campaigns in Korea (and USA) and also walked at the Seoul Fashion Week (Push Button and Jarret). Here’s my interview with Piper!

Julie (aka me if you still don’t know)You started modeling at 15, has it always be your dream?

Piper– Oh totally!! I was an awkward kid growing up and America’s Next Top Model was one of my outlets. To this day I still remember tips Tyra gave to the girls on the show.

J- What are you currently studying?

P– At the moment, nothing. I graduated early (at my school there’s an early grad program) to pursue modeling full time. Eventually I wanna go to college for Physics/Astrophysics with something in archaeology too.

J- You have amazing origins, like your are Russian, Polish, French, American, Italian… Do you speak any of those languages?

P– Oh god I wish! Together I have 13 nationalities. I took French for 2 years, I can’t really speak it anymore but I can still understand it. The only Russian I know is from what my russian « wife » Tehhi taught me.

J- You worked in Korea, what is the best thing in Korea you don’t have in USA?

P– Lots: Kpop, PC Bangs, cheaper shoes, Karaoke… I mean the USA has these things, but they are just part of the culture in Korea. PCBangs and Karaoke are EVERYWHERE. Coffee is everywhere, even more than Portland.

J- What is your favorite Kpop group?

P– You really asking the hard questions. Here are my top few: Apink, Pentagon, IKON, Hyuna, Jimin Park, Red Velvet, BTS, Stray Kids, NCTDream, EXID, and Hyukoh. I’m also excited for NinePercent to debut. I definitely listen to girl groups more than boy groups. When I listen to new music I get REALLY into it. I told myself I wasn’t going to get into BTS, but here I am 3 months after Korea. Totally in love with them.

J- What is your current playlist?

P– Currently it’s just filled with BTS‘s new album, Bastille, Jimin Park, Paramore, and Rex Orange County. Music depends on my mood, but I always like to keep it upbeat. I’m currently listening to « Look Alike » by Jimin Park and D.ear while typing this.

J- How do you manage your modeling career and school? Any tips?

P– To be totally honest, it was hard for me to manage both. I started doing half online school and half physical school to take more jobs. Then did a early grad program to get my full diploma and get out. I’d say focus on how far you really wanna get into it. If you wanna make it a career, do online school, or go for an accelerated/early grad program! If it’s just something fun for you to do, then don’t worry about it; just remember modeling IS a job. Just a tip in general: separate yourself from your work and real life. It’s what keeps me sane in this industry. Remember you are no better than anyone else, so don’t act like you deserve work. Don’t get worked up over things either. Continue to push yourself in what YOU can do. REMEMBER TO EAT. I’M SERIOUS. Learn good portion sizes and well rounded/filling meals. Basically, get your high school diploma okay kids.

J- Who is your biggest inspiration in life?

P– I don’t think I have specific inspirations? Tyra Banks for sure, Tom Holland, BTS, the people I surround myself with… it’s like an array of things. Myself included. I don’t know, just seeing humans that are kind and have worked hard to get where they are. Not saying I’m on some crazy level, but I like seeing how much work people put into what they love. My mom as well. She’s traveled everywhere, from Europe to America. She works insanely hard, started her business from nothing. I want to travel as much as her.

J- Latest fashion obsession?

P– I’ve been wearing a lot of bandannas recently… especially with my hair type it makes it fluffier/covers bad hair days. Chunky sneakers too, I love being comfy.

J- Who/What keeps you motivated?

P– Everything I mentioned before. My best friend Mara helps me out a lot, I can call her anytime. She’s my anchor when my head is in the clouds. Whenever I’m feeling overwhelmed, or my anxiety spikes, I just remember how far I’ve come since being 15. It keeps me going. To know everything people told me I couldn’t do, I’m now doing.

J- What is your favorite place in the world?

P– Italy or Korea. Korea was ridiculously fun, I want to go back there just to explore more. Italy was amazing and I just love the atmosphere. I was only 14 when I went for an 8th grade, so going back to Italy would be amazing. I could explore on my own. As you can probably tell, it’s hard for me to narrow down to one thing.

J- What is your go-to outfit?

P– Simple: an over-sized graphic tee (tie it up), some kind of cool looking jeans, and chunky sneakers… don’t forget the bandanna.

J- Is there any artist you appreciate? Why?

P– I love Bastille. Their mix tapes are insane. How Dan mashes his vocals with 80s/90s classics. I particularly love their music videos, because they always have whole stories to them. I love it when musical artists do that. On top of that, they are amazing at having oddly deep lyrics with a super upbeat sound. Vice versa, they have songs with super happy lyrics but with, for lack of better words, depressing instrumentals.

J- What are your passions, other than modeling?

P– Science, music, gaming, and travel. I adore astronomy/physics. Space FASCINATES me. If I could go to Mars, I would already be there. Music is a good outlet for me. I played the baritone in high school. It helps to tune out the the white noise in my head from my adhd/anxiety. Which is why I’m fine listening/discovering music in other languages so easily, music just puts my mind to rest. Additionally, if I told you how many online friends I have you’d be astonished. I have two groups: my gull squad boys and my Pennsylvania boys. I game with all of them constantly. I love watching Overwatch League, following players, indie games… but I digress. Lastly Travel. I’m pretty sure it runs in the family. My mom has lived all throughout Europe, and in 13 states. One of the reasons I love modeling, I can travel really anywhere I want for work.

J- You made some campaigns in Korea (to site a few, banilaco a beauty and skincare brand; Sewing Boundaries a streetwear brand; bornchamps another streetwear brand), how does it feels to see yourself in the stores, or in the street?

P– It was ABSOLUTELY surreal. One of my favorite moments from Korea was when I asked my Korean manager to take me to Gangnam after a job. It’s where « my » billboard is for BornChamps, I remember taking photos in front of it, then across the street was BanilaCo. Where I’m in their stores. Down the street was my New Balance campaign. It was so surreal I started crying hahah. Just going from a band kid, who no one really payed attention to, to then having work booked out for weeks was something I couldn’t even have dreamed of. Even for just that moment, I didn’t feel so small. (translation from korean to english: i love you!!)

J- What are your goals for the next years?

P– If I’m not there by the end of this year, Tokyo. Then New York. It’s a pretty short answer, but I also wanna go everywhere possible. Tokyo is the goal right now. I wanna go more markets. Year of the Pip, watch out.

J- The worst pun you ever made?

P– Shit, I’ve made a lot. My most recent one>> Do you know who the most powerful father is… The God father.

Anything that is so bad it’s just bad makes me laugh my ass off. I do a lot of puns that are off of what people say so it’s hard to say.

J- Where do you dream to travel to?

P– Tokyo, France, or Australia!! Love all of those places. Tokyo because I really want to work there. France because I love it in general and just wanna go there. Australia because I have an amazing friend who lives there who I met while in Korea; I miss her so much!

J- Is there anything you are particularly proud of?

P– Honestly everything I did in Korea. It was my first trip, and I was not expecting what happened. I’m so thankful for all the opportunities that came my way! I hope to push myself further in future.

Thank you so much to Piper for anwsering to all my questions, it was really nice knowing a bit more of her, she seem to fun and bubbly! I hope you enjoyed this interview of this upcoming supermodel (not kidding, she’ll be stealing names very soon) and tell me if you want more content about Pip!

My back to school Resolutions

Get back to journaling

Going to the library every wednesday

Find a job

Get back to sport

Finding Your Aesthetic.

A plusieurs moments je me suis retrouvée à me demander quel est mon type d’esthétisme, what’s my aesthetic?

How I see Myself As A Fictionnal Character

Street Style - Paris Fashion Week - Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2017-2018 : Day one

THE END. 🙂 Kiss on ur cheeks.
