Get To Know: Nuria Ma

I did the previous one with a youtuber I really appreciate, Youjin and gave you a little sneak peak of the interview with Nuria Ma!

Nuria is a 16 years old girl living in Spain (she was actually born in Spain, then moved to China when she was 5 and then moved back to Spain 3 years later). I am really in love with her content, she posts lifestyle, beauty and fashion related videos with a very cool and polished aesthetic. It makes me think of the Youtuber ‘Kinda Cool’, they both have this cool and soft vibe (and they are both so pretty). Anyways, I am beyond happy to introduce you to Nuria Ma!

Julie (me)- You own a youtube channel, what prompted you to start it, and when?

N- It was the summer to 6th grade when I discovered the beauty community on Youtube. I spent all of my summer watching videos and then one day, I took my iPod and started filming a night routine. I did in fact upload that, and I remember clearly that it got 14 views. I didn’t uploaded more after that, however I spent all my free time in my bedroom filming. So when I got a brand new laptop for my 13th birthday (it might have been my 12th birthday), I created the channel that I have today.

J- How would you describe your videos?

N- They are a mix of my life, what I like and a creative outlet, for example my vlogs documents my life (not all of it obviously) and my travels. My makeup tutorials represents the makeup looks I like and my fashion videos allows me to express myself in clothes. If that makes any sens lol.

J- I love your style, what are your favorite brands currently?

N- My favorite are &OtherStories, COS and Topshop. I do also love some other high street fashion brands, however I cannot afford them so they are just inspiration to me.

J- What is your go-to outfit?

N- For the fall time, it is always a turtleneck, jeans, black booties and a leather jacket.

J- What kind of videos do you prefer filming?

N- I love filming sit down talking videos, I find myself the happiest when I do. However I prefer fashion videos such as Lookbook but they are a pain in the a$$ to film.

J- Who are your favorite youtubers/bloggers?

N- My favorite people are Aimee Song, Amy Lee, Savislook, Meng-Mao, Allegra Shaw, Sunbeamsjess and Hailey Sani.

J- Who/What inspires you?

N- All the beautiful ladies mentioned above. I find motivation and inspiration when I see their hard work which makes me want to make something better.

J- What do you love the most about China? What do you have in China you don’t have in Spain?

N- I love how easy China is!! The food delivery, online purchases that arrives the next day without you having to pick it up if you are not home. And also, the people. For some reason, I find myself connecting to Chinese people better.

J- What does a productive weekend look like for you?

N- Waking up before 9am and starting the day with a sweaty workout, shower and then film a video, have it edited the same day and lastly, spending all Sunday with homework.

J- What are your passions?

N- Fashion and shopping hehe

J- What are your goals in life?

N- Move to NYC and start my own fashion brand. Also to meet someone who can make me happy 🙂

J- Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

N- Probably graduated from college and working my butt off to sustain myself.

J- How would you describe your aesthetic?

N- Chic, calm and simple

 

J- Are you confident in yourself? (if yes) What would you say to people who aren’t?

N- I am definitely not. However, I would tell those who aren’t either that if we learnt to love ourselves, our lives would be so much easier.

J- What is your current playlist?

N- I have one on spotify! I also love listening to coffee table jazz.

J- What is your favorite food?

N- Chinese food, Korean food and Japanese food (except of curry)

J- How do you stay healthy?

N- I try to eat clean and exercise regularly… I try

J- Is it hard to manage school and youtube?

N- YES! I tend to forget about school work when I am focused in YouTube and vice versa.

J- What do you study at school?

N- I am doing the IB diploma

J- What are your skincare/beauty essentials?

N- A very gentle cleanser, hydrating toner and moisturiser.

J- Where do you dream to travel to?

N- NYC and Japan

J- And finally, is there anything you feel proud of?

N- My channel, never thought I would get to where I am now, and I am proud that I didn’t quit half way through because that is what I tend to do.
